Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Qatadah that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When you enter the mosque, perform two units of prayer before sitting down.

Hazrat Abdullah says that it was said among the signs of the Day of Judgment is that mosques will be used as pathways.

Hazrat Malik bin Aws says that Hazrat Abu Dharr entered the mosque and performed two rak'ahs of prayer near a pillar.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Qatadah that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Give the mosques their due right. Someone asked, "What is their right?" He, peace and blessings be upon him, replied: To perform two rak'ahs of prayer before sitting.

Hazrat Abu Dharr Ghifari narrates that I presented myself before the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was in the mosque. He said to me, "O Abu Dharr! Have you offered the prayer?" I replied, "No." He said, "Stand up and offer two rak'ahs of prayer."

Hazrat Urwah narrates that Hazrat Ammar bin Yasir entered the mosque and performed two light rak‘ahs.

Hazrat Ata was asked whether a person should perform two rak'ahs of prayer every time he passes through the mosque. He replied, "No, he should perform two rak'ahs once, and then after that, the whole day may pass."

Hazrat Abu Khaldah says that I saw Hazrat Ikrimah enter the mosque and he performed two rak'ahs of prayer. Then he said that this is the right of the mosque.

Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that I came to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the mosque, so he said, "Perform two units of prayer."
