Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that Muslim women used to offer the Fajr prayer with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), then would return to their homes while it was so dark that no one could recognize them.

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would offer the Fajr prayer, then the Muslim women, wrapped in their sheets, would leave the mosque, and due to the darkness, no one could recognize them.

Hazrat Muhajir says that I have seen that letter of Hazrat Umar which he wrote to Hazrat Abu Musa, and in it he mentioned the timings of the prayers. When the time for Fajr prayer came, it was written in it that perform it in darkness and prolong the recitation.

Hazrat Amr bin Maymoon Audhi says that I used to offer the Fajr prayer behind Hazrat Umar bin Khattab. At that time, it would be so dark that if my son were three yards away from me, I would not be able to recognize him without hearing his voice.

Hazrat Mansur bin Hayyan says that Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz wrote a letter to Abdul Hameed instructing him to offer the Fajr prayer in darkness.

Hazrat Abu Salman says that I served in an army during the time of Hazrat Usman, and he used to perform the Fajr prayer in darkness.

Hazrat Shahab says that Hazrat Abu Musa used to perform the Fajr prayer in darkness.

Hazrat Amr bin Dinar says that he has offered prayer with Hazrat Abdullah bin Zubair, and he used to perform the Fajr prayer in such darkness that after finishing the prayer, we could not recognize each other.

Hazrat Iyas Hanafi says that we used to offer the Fajr prayer with Hazrat Usman, and when we finished the prayer, it would be so dark that we could not recognize each other's faces.
