Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Nafi' narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to reply to the Imam's salam.

Hazrat Sha'bi says that when the Imam says salam, his salam should be answered.

Hazrat Salim says that when the Imam says Salam, his Salam should be answered.

Hazrat Hasan bin Ubaidullah says that I said to Ibrahim that it is the practice of Hazrat Zarr bin Abdullah that when the Imam says salam (ends the prayer), he replies to his salam. Ibrahim said that it is sufficient for him to turn salam to his right and left sides.

Hazrat Dhahhak says that when the Imam says salam (ends the prayer), the followers should respond to his salam.

Hazrat Abu Aqil says that I saw Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyib turn his head to the right and to the left to offer Salam, and then he replied to the Imam's Salam.
