Those who permitted praying on wood or hard surfaces
Hadith 2861
٢٨٦١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا مروان (بن) (١) معاوية عن إسماعيل بن سميع عن مالك بن عمير قال: حدثني (من رأى حذيفة) (٢) مرض، فكان يصلي، وقد جعل له وسادة، وجعل له لوح يسجد عليه (٣).
Hazrat Malik bin Umair narrates that the person who saw Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) in a state of illness told me that he used to prostrate in prayer on a cushion or a wooden board.
Hadith 2862
٢٨٦٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا ابن عيينة عن رزين مولى (آل) (١) عباس قال: أرسل إليَّ (علي بن) (٢) عبد اللَّه بن عباس: أن أرسل إليِّ بلوح من المروة أسجد عليه (٣).
Hazrat Razin says that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) sent me a message through Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I should send him a stone tablet on which he could perform prostration.
