من قال: إذا أدركت الإمام وهو راكع فوضعت يديك على ركبتيك من قبل أن يرفع رأسه فقد أدركته
Those who say: If you join the imam in ruku and place your hands on your knees before he rises, you have attained the rak‘ah
Hadith 2541
٢٥٤١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا حفص عن ابن جريج عن نافع عن ابن عمر قال: إذا جئت والإمام راكع فوضعت يديك على ركبتيك قبل أن يرفع ⦗٣٧⦘ (رأسه) (١) فقد (أدركت) (٢) (٣).
Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that if you find the Imam in the state of bowing (ruku‘) and before he raises his head you place your hands on your knees, then you have attained that rak‘ah.
Hadith 2542
٢٥٤٢ - حدثنا حاتم بن إسماعيل عن عبد الرحمن بن حرملة عن سعيد بن المسيب قال: من أدرك الإمام قبل أن يرفع رأسه فقد أدرك (السجدة) (١).
Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyib says that whoever joins the imam in bowing (ruku) before the imam raises his head, he has attained that rak'ah.
Hadith 2543
٢٥٤٣ - حدثنا ابن إدريس عن داود عن الشعبي قال: قلت: الرجل ينتهي إلى القوم وهم ركوع، وقد رفع الإمام رأسه، قال: بعضكم أئمة بعض.
Hazrat Dawood said that he asked Hazrat Sha'bi about a man who joins the congregation while the people were in ruku', but the Imam had already raised his head; what is the ruling on this? He replied: You are Imams to one another.
Hadith 2544
٢٥٤٤ - حدثنا كثير بن هشام عن جعفر عن ميمون قال: إذا دخلت المسجد والقوم ركوع فكبرت (ثم ركعت) (١) قبل (أن يرفعوا رؤوسهم فقد أدركت الركعة) (٢).
Hazrat Maymoon says that when you enter the mosque and see people bowing (ruku‘), say the takbeer and bow before they raise their heads, then you have attained that rak‘ah.
