If One Intends to Give Adhan but Says Iqamah Instead, What Should He Do?
Hadith 2352
٢٣٥٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا ابن مهدي عن سفيان عن جابر (عن عامر) (١) قال: (سألته) (٢) عن رجل (أراد) (٣) أن يؤذن فأقام، قال: (يعيد) (٤)، وقال سفيان: يجعله أذانا (ويقيم) (٥).
Hazrat Jabir narrates that I asked Hazrat Amir, "If a man begins to give the adhan but then says the iqamah, what should he do?" He replied, "He should give the adhan again." Hazrat Sufyan said, "He should consider it as the adhan and say the iqamah."
Hadith 2353
٢٣٥٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا الفضل بن دكين عن أبي كدينة عن مغيرة عن إبراهيم قال: إذا أراد أن يؤذن فأقام قال: يرجع.
Ibrahim says that if a person begins to give the adhan but says the iqamah instead, then he should give the adhan again.
