Those Who Consider Giving Adhan Without Wudu Disliked
Hadith 2214
٢٢١٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا عمر بن (هارون) (١) عن الأوزاعي عن الزهري قال: قال أبو هريرة: لا يؤذن المؤذن إلا متوضئًا (٢).
Hazrat Abu Hurairah says that the muezzin will give the call to prayer (adhan) while in a state of ablution (wudu).
Hadith 2215
٢٢١٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا محمد بن عبد اللَّه الأسدي عن معقل بن عبيد اللَّه عن عطاء: أنه كره أن يؤذن الرجل وهو على غير وضوء.
Hazrat Ata considers it undesirable for a person to give the adhan without ablution.
Hadith 2216
٢٢١٦ - حدثنا وكيع عن إسرائيل عن (ثوير) (١) قال: كنت مؤذنا فأمرني مجاهد أن لا أؤذن حتى أتوضأ.
Hazrat Thawir says that I was a muezzin; Hazrat Mujahid instructed me not to give the adhan without ablution.
