Those Who Say Washing the Feet is Not Necessary
Hadith 1985
١٩٨٥ - حدثنا هشيم قال: أخبرنا يونس ومنصور عن الحسن أنه كان يقول: إذا مسح على خفيه بعد الحدث، ثم خلعهما: أنه على طهارة؛ فليصل.
Hasan used to say that if a man wiped over his socks after losing his ablution, then took them off, he is still pure, so he should perform the prayer.
Hadith 1986
١٩٨٦ - حدثنا هشيم قال: أخبرنا مغيرة، والأعمش عن فضيل بن عمرو عن إبراهيم: أنه رأى إبراهيم فعل ذلك، ثم خلع خفيه قال: ثم صلى، ولم يتوضأ.
Hazrat Fudail bin Amr narrates that Ibrahim took off his socks, then performed the prayer and did not perform ablution.
Hadith 1987
١٩٨٧ - حدثنا أبو أسامة عن إسماعيل عن عمرو بن دينار عن طاوس: في الرجل يمسح، ثم يخلع قال: كان يقول: هو على طهارة.
Hazrat Tawoos says that if a person removes his socks after performing masah (wiping), he remains pure.
Hadith 1988
١٩٨٨ - حدثنا عبد الصمد بن عبد الوارث عن سعيد بن زيد عن كثير بن شنظير قال: سألت الحسن، وعطاء عن رجل توضأ، ومسح على خفيه، ثم خلعهما؟ (قالا: يصلي) (١)، ولا يغسل قدميه.
Hazrat Kathir bin Shunzir narrates that I asked Hasan and Hazrat Ata: If a person performs ablution, wipes over his socks, and then removes the socks, what is the ruling? They replied: He should perform the prayer and not wash his feet.
