(من كره) أن يستنجي بيمينه
Those Who Consider Using the Right Hand for Istinja Disliked
Hadith 1628
١٦٢٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن إبراهيم عن عبد الرحمن بن يزيد قال: قالوا لسلمان (١): علمكم نبيكم كل شيء، حتى الخراءة! قال: أجل، قد نهانا أن نستنجي باليمين (٢).
Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Yazid narrates that some people said to Hazrat Salman, "Your Prophet has taught you everything, even the manner of performing istinja (cleaning after relieving oneself)!" He replied, "Yes, and he has forbidden us from performing istinja with the right hand."
Hadith 1629
١٦٢٩ - حدثنا ابن فضيل عن الأعمش عن بعض أصحابه عن مسروق عن عائشة قالت: (كانت) (١) يمين رسول اللَّه ﷺ لطعامه وصلاته، وكانت شماله لما سوى ذلك (٢).
Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the right hand of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was for eating and for prayer, and he had reserved his left hand for other tasks.
Hadith 1630
١٦٣٠ - حدثنا حسين بن علي عن زائدة عن عاصم عن المسيب -وقال غير حسين: عن زائدة (١) عن المسيب- عن (سواء) (٢) عن حفصة قالت: كانت يمين رسول اللَّه ﷺ لطعامه، وشرابه، وطهوره، وثيابه، وصلاته، وكانت شماله لما سوى ذلك (٣).
Hazrat Hafsa narrates that the right hand of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was for eating, drinking, ablution, wearing clothes, and for prayer, and the left hand was designated for other tasks.
Hadith 1631
١٦٣١ - حدثنا حفص بن غياث عن هشام عن أبيه قال: [قال عمر: (إنما آكل بيميني واستطب بشمالي) (١) (٢).
Hazrat Umar says that I eat with my right hand and perform istinja (cleaning after relieving oneself) with my left hand.
Hadith 1632
١٦٣٢ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن منصور عن إبراهيم قال] (١): كان يقال: يمين الرجل لطعامه وشرابه، وشماله لمخاطه واستنجائه (٢).
Ibrahim says that a person’s right hand should be for eating and drinking, and the left hand should be for spitting and cleaning oneself, etc.
