Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ata narrates that Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) made a pool for ablution in the mosque. Although he knew that everyone would perform ablution from it. The water from people's ablution would also fall into that vessel. Hazrat Ibn Jurayj says that I asked Hazrat Ata about this, so he replied that there is no harm in it.

Hazrat Raja reports that I saw Hazrat Bara bin Azib urinate and then perform ablution from the pool made for ablution in the mosque.

Hazrat Isa bin Mughira says that I asked Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair about the ablution pools built in the mosque in which people used to dip their hands, so he replied that nothing makes water impure.

Hazrat Mujahid used to perform ablution from the pool where people performed ablution.

Hazrat Abu Huraira performed ablution from the pool used by the people for ablution.

Hazrat Muzahim says that I asked Hazrat Sha'bi, "In your opinion, is the old woman's jug covered with cloth better for ablution, or the ablution pond in which even the butcher puts his hand?" He replied, "The pond in which even the butcher puts his hand."

Hazrat Abdullah bin Darrar narrates that I was performing ablution at a pool made in the market when Hazrat Abdullah passed by and said, "O so-and-so! Where do you intend to go today?" I replied, "I intend to go to Syria."

Hazrat Ibn Jurayj says that I said to Hazrat Ata that I saw a man performing ablution from an open pool. He replied that there is no harm in it. Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) had made such a pool even though he knew that everyone would perform ablution from it.
