Should One Say Alhamdulillah after Sneezing in the Restroom?
Hadith 1233
١٢٣٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر (قال) (١): حدثنا ابن إدريس عن حصين عن الشعبي: في الرجل يعطس على الخلاء قال: يحمد اللَّه.
Hazrat Sha'bi says that one who sneezes in the toilet should say Alhamdulillah.
Hadith 1234
١٢٣٤ - حدثنا ابن إدريس عن أبيه عن منصور عن إبراهيم قال: يحمد اللَّه؛ فإنه يصعد.
Ibrahim says that one who sneezes in the toilet should say "Alhamdulillah" because these words reach Allah Almighty.
Hadith 1235
١٢٣٥ - حدثنا ابن إديس عن هشام عن الحسن قال: يحمد اللَّه في نفسه.
Hasan says that one who sneezes in the toilet should say "Alhamdulillah" in his heart.
Hadith 1236
١٢٣٦ - حدثنا ابن علية عن ابن عون عن محمد: سئل عن الرجل يعطس في الخلاء؟ قال: [لا أعلم بأسًا بذكر اللَّه.
It was asked from Muhammad about a person who sneezes in the toilet: should he say "Alhamdulillah" or not? He replied, "I do not see any harm in mentioning Allah."
Hadith 1237
١٢٣٧ - حدثنا ابن علية عن شعبة عن أبي إسحاق في الرجل يعطس في الخلاء] (١) قال: قال أبو ميسرة: ما أحب أن أذكر اللَّه إلا في مكان طيب قال: قال منصور: قال إبراهيم: يحمد اللَّه.
Hazrat Abu Ishaq says that Hazrat Abu Maisarah, regarding a person who sneezes in the toilet, said: "I think that Allah's remembrance should only be done in a pure place." Ibrahim says that he will say "Alhamdulillah."
Hadith 1238
١٢٣٨ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال: أنا قزعة بن (سويد) (١) قال: سألت ابن أبي مليكة عن الرجل يعطس وهو على الخلاء؟ قال: يحمد اللَّه (٢).
Hazrat Ibn Abi Mulaikah said regarding a person who sneezes in the toilet that he should say "Alhamdulillah."
