Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) says that if a person takes water from a vessel while in a state of impurity (janabah), the remaining water becomes impure. Angels do not enter a house in which there is urine.

Hasan (regarding the person who puts his hand into the vessel before washing it, or the person who puts his hand into the vessel before washing it after waking up from sleep) says that if he wishes, he may perform ablution with it, and if he wishes, he may discard it.

Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyib says that if a person in a state of major ritual impurity puts his hand into a vessel before washing it, there is no harm in it.

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), daughter of Sa’d, narrates that Hazrat Sa’d used to order his slave-girl to bring water. She would draw water from the pitcher and bring water for ablution, and she would put her hand in it. Hazrat Sa’d was informed that she was menstruating, so he said, “Her menstruation is not in her hand.”

Hazrat Aamir says that the companions of Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the state of janabah and women in the state of menstruation used to put their hands into the vessel before washing them, and they did not consider there to be any harm in it.
