Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When any of you has intercourse with his wife at night and then wishes to do it again, he should perform ablution between the two acts.

Hazrat Salman bin Rabee’ah narrates that Hazrat Umar said to me, “O Salman! When you have intercourse with your wife and wish to do it again, what will you do?” I said, “What should I do?” He said, “Perform ablution between the two acts.”

Hazrat Nafi' narrates that Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) whenever he wished to have intercourse with his wife again after having done so, he would wash his face and arms.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that when you wish to have intercourse a second time, then perform ablution.

Hazrat Hisham states that Hasan did not consider it objectionable for a man to have intercourse with his wife a second time without performing ablution after the first intercourse. Hazrat Ibn Sirin states that he did not consider it objectionable in this matter. He said that this ruling is given because it is more appropriate for repetition.

Hazrat Ikrimah says that when one wishes to repeat intercourse, he should perform ablution.

Ibrahim says that he will perform ablution.

Hazrat Ata says that when one wishes to have intercourse again, he should perform ablution.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that when one wishes to have intercourse again, he should perform ablution.
