Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) was asked about performing ablution after taking a bath, so he replied, "Which ablution is there that is more comprehensive than the bath?!"

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not perform ablution after the ritual bath of janabah.

A man said to Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), "I perform ablution after taking a bath." He replied, "You are doing a useless act!"

Once a man said to Hazrat Alqamah that his niece performs ablution after taking a bath. Hazrat Alqamah replied that if she were with us, she would not do so; What ablution is there that is more expansive than the bath!

Hazrat Alqamah says: Which ablution is more common than ghusl?

Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid was asked that a man performed ghusl for janabah, then performed wudu for prayer, then came out of the bathhouse; will he perform wudu again? He replied: No, he should just wash his feet.

Hazrat Mu'adh bin Alaa narrates that I asked Saeed bin Jubair about performing ablution after taking a bath, so he considered it objectionable.

Hazrat Ikrimah was asked that if a man performed ghusl for janabah, and then the time for prayer arrived, will he perform wudu? He replied, "No."

Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: After washing the body from head to toe, is there still a need for ablution (wudu)?

Ibrahim says that ablution is performed before the bath.

A man said to Abdullah that such-and-such woman performs ablution after taking a bath. He replied, "If she were with us, she would not do so."

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to perform ablution after taking a bath.
