Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Laith states that Hazrat Ata, Hazrat Tawus, and Hazrat Mujahid used to perform several prayers with a single ablution.

Hazrat Amarah says that Hazrat Aswad had a wooden vessel from which he used to perform ablution. And after performing ablution once, he would offer several prayers with it.

Hazrat Saad says that when you perform ablution once, you can offer as many prayers as you wish with that ablution.

Hazrat Salamah used to perform several prayers with one ablution.

Hazrat Mujahid says that I saw Hazrat Sha'bi performing several prayers with a single ablution.

Ibrahim says that I perform the Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha prayers with a single ablution; however, if my ablution is invalidated or any inappropriate word escapes my mouth, then I perform ablution again.

Hasan says that as long as a person’s ablution is not nullified, he can perform several prayers with one ablution. The same ruling applies to tayammum.

Hazrat Atiyyah narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to perform the Zuhr, Asr, and Maghrib prayers with a single ablution.

Sulaiman Basri says that Hazrat Umar used to perform the Zuhr, Asr, and Maghrib prayers with a single ablution.

Ibn Aun says that Muhammad used to perform the Zuhr prayer and then sit, and then he would perform the Asr prayer with the same ablution.

Hazrat Abu Ja'far says that several prayers can be performed with one ablution.

Hazrat Abu Musa says that performing ablution is only necessary for the one whose ablution has been broken.

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib says that performing ablution without it being invalidated is extravagance.

Ibn Sirin says that I asked Shurayh, "Do you perform ablution for every prayer?" He replied, "I see what the people do."

Hazrat Ata bin Saib says that Hazrat Abu Abdur Rahman performed the Zuhr and Asr (and perhaps also the Maghrib) prayers but did not even touch water.

Hazrat Buraidah narrates that generally the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform ablution for every prayer, but on the day of the conquest of Makkah, he performed all the prayers with a single ablution.

Hazrat Alqamah says that ablution is only obligatory for the one whose ablution is broken.

Hazrat Muhammad bin Ishaq states that Hazrat Ibn Aswad once came to Madinah in such a condition that he was ill. He performed the Isha and Fajr prayers with one ablution in such a way that he would stand raising one foot.
