Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Rabi’ states that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and performed ablution. During ablution, he did not take fresh water for wiping the head; rather, he wiped his head with the water already present on his hands.

Hazrat Hisham narrates from his father that Hazrat Humaid and Hasan used to perform masah of the head with the water remaining on their hands.

Hazrat Abu Ja'far narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to wipe his head with the water left on his hands.
