ما قالوا في الهلال يرى ما يقالWhat to say when the moon is sighted
Hadith 9987
٩٩٨٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قا (ل) (١) حدثنا محمد بن بشر قال: حدثنا عبد العزيز بن عمر قال: حدثني من لا أتهم عن عبادة بن الصامت قال: كانت رسول اللَّه (ﷺ) (٢) ⦗١١٤⦘ إذا رأى الهلال قال: "اللَّه أكبر اللَّه أكبر الحمد للَّه الحمد للَّه (و) (٣) لا حول ولا قوة إلا باللَّه اللهم اني أسألك خير (هذا) (٤) الشهر وأعوذ بك من شر القدر ومن شر يوم الحشر" (٥).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw the moon, he would recite this supplication: Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. The strength to avoid sin and the power to do good comes only from Allah. O Allah! I ask You for the goodness of this month, and I seek refuge with You from the evil of fate and from the calamity of the Day of Resurrection.
