Hadith 9842
٩٨٤٢ - حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن أبي صالح عن أبي هريرة قال: واصل النبي ﷺ فبلغ ذلك الناس فواصلوا فبلغ ذلك النبي ﷺ فنهاهم فقال: "إني لست مثلكم إني أظل عند ربي (فيطعمني) (١) ويسقيني" (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) observed continuous fasting (Saum Wisal). When people came to know of this, they also began to observe continuous fasting. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was informed of this, he forbade the people from doing so and said, "I am not like you; my Lord gives me food and drink."
