في الهلال يرى، وبعض الناس قد أكلIf the moon is sighted after some people have already eaten, what should they do?
Hadith 9728
٩٧٢٨ - حدثنا محمد بن (بكر) (١) عن ابن جريج قال: قلت لعطاء أرأيت أن أصبح أهل مكة مفطرين أو رجل أو رجلان ثم جاءهم أن قد رئي الهلال فجاءهم الخبر بذلك من أول النهار أو من آخر النهار كانوا يصومون بقية يومهم أو يقضونه بعد قال: يأكلون ويشربون إن شاءوا ولم يوجب عليهم أن يصوموا (بقية يومهم) (٢).
Hazrat Ibn Jurayj says that I asked Hazrat Ata: If some people of Makkah begin the morning not fasting, or one or two people begin the morning not fasting, and then after some time someone comes and says that the moon was sighted last night, and this news reaches them in the early or late part of the day, should they fast for the rest of the day or make up this fast later? He replied: If they wish, they may continue eating and drinking; it is not obligatory for them to fast for the rest of the day.
