Hadith 9712
٩٧١٢ - حدثنا وكيع عن الأعمش عن أبي وائل قال: أتانا كتاب عمر ونحن (بخانقين) (١) أن الأهلة بعضها أكبر من بعض، فإذا رأيتم الهلال نهارًا فلا تفطروا ⦗٤٥⦘ حتى يشهد رجلان مسلمان أنهما أهلاه بالأمس (٢).
Hazrat Abu Wa'il says that we were at the place of Khanqin when a letter from Hazrat Umar came to us, in which it was written that some moons are larger than others. When you see the moon during the day, do not break the fast until two Muslims testify that they saw the moon the previous day.
