Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Sahl bin Sa’d narrates that the saying of the Ansar, “water for water,” meaning that ghusl would become obligatory only if semen was emitted, was in the early days of Islam. Later, ghusl became obligatory merely due to penetration.
