Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Umm Sulaym asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! If a woman sees in a dream what a man sees, is ghusl (ritual bath) obligatory upon her?" He said, "Did she feel desire?" She replied, "Perhaps." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Does she see wetness?" She replied, "Perhaps." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then she should perform ghusl." Afterwards, some women met Hazrat Umm Sulaym and said, "You have disgraced us before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)." She replied, "I cannot refrain from asking about what is lawful and unlawful."
