Hadith 8798
٨٧٩٨ - حدثنا أبو خالد الأحمر عن عبيد اللَّه عن نافع عن ابن عمر قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "مثل القرآن مثل الإبل المعقلة إن عقلها صاحبها أمسكها وإن تركها ذهبت" (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of the Holy Qur'an is like that of camels tied with a rope. If their owner keeps them tied, he will be able to restrain them, but if he lets them loose, they will run away.
