Hadith 8681
٨٦٨١ - حدثنا ابن نمير عن جويبر عن الضحاك عن عبد اللَّه أنه بلغه أن قومًا يذكرون اللَّه قياما فأتاهم فقال: ما هذه (النكرى) (١) قالوا سمعنا اللَّه يقول: ﴿(فَاذْكُرُوا)﴾ (٢) (اللَّهَ) (٣) قِيَامًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَى (جُنُوبِكُمْ) (٤)﴾ [النساء: ١٠٣]، فقال: إنما هذا إذا لم يستطغ الرجل أن يصلي قائما صلى قاعدًا (٥).
Hazrat Dhahhak narrates that Hazrat Abdullah received news that some people were remembering Allah while standing. He went to them and said, "What a strange thing this is!" They replied, "We have heard the command of Allah: Remember Allah while standing, sitting, and lying on your sides." Hazrat Abdullah said, "This command is for the time when a person does not have the strength to pray while standing, so he should pray while sitting."
