Hadith 8356
٨٣٥٦ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا هشام بن الغاز (بن) (١) ربيعة (الجرشي) (٢) عن عطاء بن (أبي) (٣) رياح قال: قلت لابن عباس أقصر إلى عرفة؟ فقال: لا (قلت) (٤) أقصر (إلى مر؟) (٥) قال: لا قلت: أقصر إلى الطائف وإلى عسفان؟ قال: نعم وذلك ثمانية وأربعون ميلا وعقد بيده (٦).
Hazrat Ata bin Abi Rabah says that I asked Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) whether I should shorten the prayer at Arafah? He replied, "No." I asked, "Should I shorten the prayer on the journey to Marr?" He replied, "No." I asked, "Should I shorten the prayer on the journeys to Taif and Usfan?" He replied, "Yes, this is forty-eight miles." And he counted with his hand.
