قوله (تعالى): ﴿ولا تجهر بصلاتك﴾Explanation of the Verse: 'Do Not Raise Your Voice in Your Prayer'
Hadith 8316
٨٣١٦ - حدثنا هاشم بن القاسم قال: ثنا أبو سعيد قال: حدثنا سالم (عن) (١) سعيد ﴿وَلَا تَجْهَرْ بِصَلَاتِكَ وَلَا تُخَافِتْ بِهَا﴾ قال: كان النبي ﷺ يرفع صوته ببسم اللَّه الرحمن الرحيم، وكان مسيلمة قد تسمى بالرحمن، فكان المشركون إذا سمعوا ذلك من النبي ﷺ قالوا: قد ذكر مسيلمة إله اليمامة، ثم عارضوه بالمكاء والتصدية (والصفير) (٢) فأنزل اللَّه تعالى: ﴿وَلَا تَجْهَرْ بِصَلَاتِكَ وَلَا تُخَافِتْ بِهَا﴾ (٣).
Hazrat Saeed narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite "Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Raheem" aloud. And Musaylimah used to call himself "Rahman." When the polytheists heard the word "Rahman" in "Bismillah" from you, they said that he has mentioned the deity of Yamamah, Musaylimah. Then the matter reached the stage of debate, challenge, and uproar. Upon this, this verse was revealed { وَلاَ تَجْہَرْ بِصَلاَتِکَ وَلاَ تُخَافِتْ بِہَا }
