الصلاة والعشاء يحضران بأيهما يبدأIf Prayer and Food Arrive at the Same Time, Which Should Be Started First?
Hadith 8129
٨١٢٩ - حدثنا أبو أسامة قال: ثنا (عبيد اللَّه) (١) بن عمر عن نافع عن ابن عمر قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "إذا وضع عشاء أحدكم وأقيمت الصلاة فابدؤوا بالعَشاء ⦗٢١١⦘ (فلا) (٢) يعجلن حتى يفرغ منه"، قال نافع: وكان ابن عمر يوضع له الطعام فتقام الصلاة فلا يأتيها حتى يفرغ وأنه (يسمع) (٣) قراءة (الإمام) (٤) (٥).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When food is placed before you and the prayer is established, then eat the food first and do not hurry in finishing the meal. Hazrat Nafi' says that when food was placed before Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and the prayer was established on the other side, he would not go for the prayer until he had finished eating, even though during this time he could hear the recitation of the Imam.
