Hadith 8081
٨٠٨١ - حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا شعبة عن] (١) الحكم عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى قال: صلى رسول اللَّه ﷺ في نعليه، فصلى الناس في نعالهم، فخلع فخلعوا فلما صلى قال: "من شاء أن يصلي في نعليه فليصل، ومن شاء أن يخلع فليخلع" (٢).
Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed prayer in his shoes, so the people also started praying with their shoes on. When he took off his shoes, the people also took off their shoes. After finishing the prayer, he said that whoever wishes to pray in his shoes may pray in his shoes, and whoever wishes to take off his shoes and pray may take off his shoes and pray.
