Hadith 6828
٦٨٢٨ - حدثنا حفص عن عاصم عن بكر بن عبد اللَّه المزني قال: سئل ابن عباس عن ثلاثة صلوا العصر ثم مروا بمسجد فدخل أحدهم فصلى، ومضى واحد، وجلس واحد على الباب (فقال) (١) ابن عباس: أما الذي صلى فزاد (خيرًا) (٢) إلى خير وأما الذي مضى فمضى لحاجته، وأما الذي جلس على الباب (فهو أخسهم) (٣) (٤).
Hazrat Bakr bin Abdullah Muzani reports that Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was asked about three men: they had performed the Asr prayer, then passed by a mosque. One of them prayed with the congregation, the second went ahead, and the third sat down by the door of the mosque. What is the ruling regarding these three? He replied: The one who prayed with the congregation attained goodness upon goodness; the one who went ahead did so for his need; and the one who sat at the door of the mosque did an insignificant and trivial act.
