Hadith 5311
٥٣١١ - حدثنا ابن علية عن عطاء بن السائب عن أبي عبد الرحمن قال: نزلنا المدائن فكنا منها على رأس (فرسخ) (١) فجاءت الجمعة (فحضر) (٢) أبي وحضرت معه فخطبنا حذيفة فقال: إن اللَّه ﵎ يقول: ﴿اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ﴾ [القمر: ١] (٣).
Hazrat Abu Abdur Rahman says that we were residing at a distance of one farsakh from Mada'in. The day of Jumu'ah came, so I and my father attended for Jumu'ah. Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered the sermon to us and in it he said: "Allah Almighty says: The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has split."
