Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat ‘Ubada bin Nasi narrates that Hazrat ‘Abdul Malik bin Marwan set out for Bayt al-Maqdis with the intention of offering prayer. He camped near the Table of Ibrahim. I met him there with my army. When I encountered him, he said, “We are travelers; Jumu‘ah is not obligatory upon us. You should lead your companions in the Jumu‘ah prayer.”
