Hazrat Zaid bin Wahb narrates that on the day of Nahrawan, Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) confronted the Khawarij. The spears kept striking continuously and the Khawarij were killed. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Search for Dhu al-Thadiyya among them," but after searching, he was not found. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Neither have I lied nor has a lie been told to me. Search for him." When they searched again, he was found lying on the ground among the slain. There was something on his hand resembling the paw of a cat. Upon seeing him, Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and the people said "Allahu Akbar," and the people were pleased and Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was also pleased.
