Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Salamah narrates that I asked Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri whether he had ever heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mention the Haruriyyah. Hazrat Abu Saeed replied, "Yes, I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mention a people who would be devoted to worship. He said, 'You will consider your own worship insignificant compared to theirs, and your fasting insignificant compared to theirs. They will go out of the religion just as an arrow passes through the bow. He will take his sword and look at the tip of his arrow, but will find nothing there; he will look at its rear end, but will find nothing there; he will look at the shaft of his arrow, but will find nothing there; then he will look at the feathers of the arrow and will be in doubt whether he has seen anything or not.'"
