Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Zaid bin Wahb says that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon before us at the bridge of Dizjan in Mada’in. In this sermon, he said that I have been informed that a group will emerge from the east, among them will be Dhul-Thadiyah. I do not know whether these are the same people or some others? The narrator says that those people kept moving together, and the Haruriyyah said: Do not speak to them in the same way as you spoke to them on the day of Harura. Then they spoke to them, and you returned. Then spears began to be used among them. Some companions of Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Cut the spears, and then they turned around and fought them. Then twelve or thirteen people from among the companions of Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) were martyred. Then he said: Search for him, so they searched for him and found him. Then he said: By Allah, neither did you lie nor were you lied to. Keep acting and do not rely on hope. If you do not rely on hope, I will tell you that which Allah Almighty has conveyed through the blessed tongue of His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then he said: There were also some people from Yemen with us. The people asked: How is that, O Commander of the Faithful? He replied: Their desires were with us.
