Hadith 40697
٤٠٦٩٧ - حدثنا أبو أسامة عن سليمان بن المغيرة عن حميد بن هلال عن عبد اللَّه ابن الصامت عن أبي ذر قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "إن بعدي أو سيكون بعدي من أمتي قوم يقرؤون القرآن لا يجاوز حلوقهم يخرجون من الدين كما يخرج السهم من الرمية لا يعودون فيه هم شرار الخلق والخليقة" (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: After me, there will be a people who will recite the Qur'an, but the Qur'an will not go beyond their throats. They will go out of the religion just as an arrow goes out of the bow. They will not return to the religion again. They are the worst of creation and the worst in character. Hazrat Abdullah bin Samit says that I mentioned this narration to Hazrat Rafi' bin Amr, and he said: I too heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, saying this.
