٤٠٦٣١ - حدثنا يعلى بن عبيد عن إسماعيل بن أبي خالد عن عبد السلام رجل من بني حية قال: خلا علي بالزبير يوم الجمل فقال: أنشدك باللَّه كيف سمعت رسول اللَّه ﷺ يقول وأنت (لاوٍ) (١) يدي في سقيفة بني فلان: "لتقاتلنه ⦗٥١١⦘ وأنت ظالم له، ثم لينصرن عليك"، قال: (قد) (٢) سمعتُ، لا جرم لا أقاتلك (٣).
It is narrated from Abdussalam that on the day of the Battle of Jamal, Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) met Hazrat Zubair privately and said, "I ask you by Allah, did you not hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say, while you were standing under the shade of such-and-such tribe's hut, leaning on my hand: 'You will fight against him and you will be the one doing wrong, then help will be given against you'?" Hazrat Zubair replied, "Indeed, I heard it, and now I will not fight against you."
