Hadith 40617
٤٠٦١٧ - حدثنا أبو أسامة (١) عن عوف عن الحسن قال: جاء رجل إلى الزبير يوم الجمل (فقال) (٢): (أقتل) (٣) لك عليا؟ قال: وكيف؟ قال: آتيه فأخبره أني معه، ثم أفتك به، فقال الزبير: سمعت رسول اللَّه ﷺ يقول: " (إن) (٤) الإيمان قيد الفتك لا يفتك مؤمن" (٥).
It is narrated from Hasan that a man came to Zubair and said, "Shall I kill Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, for you?" Zubair replied, "How?" He said, "I will go to him and say that I am with you, then I will kill him deceitfully." Zubair said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'Faith prevents deceit, and a believer never deceives.'"
