Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Tamim bin Dhuhl Dhabbi that on the day of the Battle of Jamal, I was holding the stirrup of Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and was engaged in battle alongside him. I saw as if I were in Paradise, and he was observing the slain attentively. He passed by a man whose condition was very strange and who had been killed. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Who knows him?" I said, "He is such-and-such a person, belonging to the Dhabbi tribe and the son of so-and-so," until I counted seven slain who were lying face down around him. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I wish there was no Dhabbi on earth except under the authority of this elder."
