Hadith 40560
٤٠٥٦٠ - حدثنا عيسى بن يونس عن الأعمش عن رجل قد سماه قال: شهدت يوم الجمل (فما) (١) دخلت دار الوليد إلا ذكرت يوم الجمل، (ووقع) (٢) السيوف على (البيض) (٣)، قال: كنت أرى عليا يحمل فيضرب (بسيفه) (٤) ⦗٤٧٨⦘ (حتى) (٥) ينثني، ثم يرجع (٦) فيقول: لا تلوموني، ولوموا هذا، ثم يعود فيقومه (٧).
Hazrat A’mash narrated from a man, whose name he also mentioned, that I was present at the Battle of Jamal. Whenever I enter Walid’s house, the Day of Jamal always comes to my mind—the day when swords were striking the necks. I saw Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) holding a sword, advancing while wielding the sword, then returning and saying, “Do not blame me, blame him,” then returning and setting him straight.
