Hadith 40407
٤٠٤٠٧ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن الحارث بن (حصيرة) (١) عن زيد بن وهب قال: قيل لحذيفة: ما وقفات الفتنة؟ وما بعثاتها؟ قال: بعثاتها سل السيف ووقفاتها غمده (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Wahb that he said: Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked, "What is the cessation and arising of tribulation (fitnah)?" He replied, "The arising of tribulation means the sword coming out of its sheath, and its cessation means the sword being put back into its sheath."
