Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Aliah narrates from Hazrat Abi that Allah Almighty’s statement { قُلْ ہُوَ الْقَادِرُ عَلَی أَنْ یَبْعَثَ عَلَیْکُمْ عَذَابًا مِنْ فَوْقِکُمْ أَوْ مِنْ تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِکُمْ أَوْ یَلْبِسَکُمْ شِیَعًا وَیُذِیقَ بَعْضَکُمْ بَأْسَ بَعْضٍ } “Say: He is able to send upon you a punishment from above you or from beneath your feet, or to confuse you in sects and make you taste the violence of one another.” He said that these are four things, and each one of them will certainly occur. Two of them passed after the twenty-five (25) years of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) demise: they were divided into groups and tasted the violence of one another. And two will inevitably occur: sinking into the earth and a rain of stones.
