Hadith 40372
٤٠٣٧٢ - حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن نمير وأبو أسامة (قالا) (١): (حدثنا) (٢) إسماعيل بن أبي خالد عن قيس بن أبي حازم قال: قام أبو بكر فحمد اللَّه وأثنى عليه ثم قال: يا أيها الناس! إنكم تقرؤون هذه الآية: ﴿يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا (عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْفُسَكُمْ) (٣) لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ مَنْ ضَلَّ إِذَا اهْتَدَيْتُمْ﴾ [المائدة: ١٠٥]، وإنا سمعنا رسول اللَّه ﷺ يقول: "إن الناس إذا رأوا المنكر لا (يغيرونه) (٤) أوشك اللَّه أن (يعمهم) (٥) بعقابه"، قال أبو أسامة: وقال مرة أخرى: وأنا سمعت رسول اللَّه ﷺ يقول (٦).
It is narrated from Hazrat Qais bin Abi Hazim that he said Hazrat Abu Bakr stood up and praised Allah Almighty, then said: O people! You recite this verse: O believers! Your lives are obligatory upon you. When you are on guidance, the misguidance of anyone will not harm you. And indeed, when people see evil and do not change it, it is near that Allah Almighty will send punishment upon all of them. Abu Umamah, the narrator, says: I heard this statement from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.
