Hadith 40370
٤٠٣٧٠ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن قُيس بن مسلم عن طارق بن شهاب قال: قال: (عتريس) (١) (لعبد اللَّه) (٢): هلك من لم يأمر بالمعروف و (٣) ينه عن المنكر، فقال عبد اللَّه: بل هلك من لم يعرف المعروف بقلبه وينكر المنكر بقلبه (٤).
It is narrated from Hazrat Tariq bin Shihab that he said Hazrat Atris said to Hazrat Abdullah: The person who did not enjoin good and did not forbid evil has perished. Hazrat Abdullah replied: Rather, the one who did not consider good as good in his heart and did not consider evil as evil in his heart has perished.
