Hadith 40367
٤٠٣٦٧ - حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن قيس بن راشد عن أبي جحيفة عن علي قال: إن أول ما تغلبون عليه من الجهاد: الجهاد بأيديكم، ثم الجهاد بألسنتكم ثم الجهاد بقلوبكم، فأي قلب لم يعرف المعروف (١) نكس (فجعل) (٢) أعلاه أسفله (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: Verily, the first type of jihad that will be overcome among you is jihad with the hands, then your jihad with the tongue, then jihad with the heart. So whoever does not consider good as good and evil as evil in his heart, he will be overturned, and his upper side will be turned to his lower side.
