Hadith 40296
٤٠٢٩٦ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال: أخبرنا سليمان التيمي عن أبي نضرة عن جابر بن عبد اللَّه أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ لقي ابن صياد ومعه أبو بكر وعمر، أو قال: رجلان، فقال (له) (١) رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "أتشهد أني رسول اللَّه؟ "، (فقال) (٢) ابن صياد: أتشهد أني رسول اللَّه؟ (فقال رسول اللَّه) (٣) ﷺ: "آمنت باللَّه (ورسوله) (٤) "، فقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ (٥): "ما ترى؟ " فقال ابن صياد: أرى عرشا على الماء، فقال له رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "ترى عرش إبليس على البحر؟ " قال: "ما ترى؟ " قال: أرى (صادقين) (٦) أو كاذبين، فقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "لبس عليه (لبس عليه) (٧) فدعوه" (٨).
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, met Ibn Sayyad and with him were Hazrat Abu Bakr and Hazrat Umar, or he said two men were with him. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him: "Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?" Ibn Sayyad replied: "Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?" The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I believe in Allah and His Messenger." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, asked: "What do you see?" Ibn Sayyad said: "I see the Throne upon water." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "You are seeing the throne of Iblis upon the sea." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, asked: "What do you see?" He said: "I see two truthful ones or two liars." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The matter has become confused for him, the matter has become confused for him, so leave him."
