Hadith 40077
٤٠٠٧٧ - حدثنا مروان بن معاوية عن العلاء بن خالد عن شقيق قال: قال عبد اللَّه: (أيها الناس!) (١) إن هذا السلطان قد ابتليتم (به) (٢)، فإن (عدل) (٣) كان له الأجر وعليكم (الشكر) (٤)، وإن جار كان عليه الوزر وعليكم الصبر (٥).
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Masood: O people! Indeed, this king is being tested through you. If he acts justly, he will have a reward and it will be obligatory upon you to be grateful. And if he acts unjustly, the sin will be upon him and it will be obligatory upon you to be patient.
