Hadith 40046
٤٠٠٤٦ - حدثنا حسين بن علي عن زائدة عن عبد اللَّه بن عثمان عن نافع بن (سرجس) (١) عن أبي هريرة قال: أظلتكم الفتن كقطع الليل المظلم، أنجى الناس فيها صاحب شاهقة؛ يأكل من رسل غنمه، أو رجل من وراء الدرب آخذ بعنان فرسه، يأكل من (فيء) (٢) سيفه (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah that he said: "There will come to you tribulations like pieces of a dark night. Among the people, the one who will attain the most salvation in these tribulations is the person who lives on the peak of a mountain, obtaining sustenance from his flock of goats, or the person who holds the reins of his horse, eating from the spoils of his sword."
