Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit that he said: We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to listen and obey in hardship and ease, in pleasure and displeasure, and in situations of compulsion, and in the case when preference is given over us, and on the condition that we will not dispute with those in authority, and on the condition that we will speak the truth wherever we may be, and in the matter of Allah, we will not fear the blame of any blamer.
