Hadith 40039
٤٠٠٣٩ - حدثنا يحيى بن عيسى عن الأعمش عن (شمر) (١) عن رجل قال: كنت عريفا في زمان علي، قال: فأمرنا بأمر فقال: أفعلتم ما أمرتكم؟ قلنا: (٢) لا، قال: واللَّه لتفعلن ما تؤمرون به أو ليركبن أعناقَكم اليهود والنصارى (٣).
Hazrat A’mash narrates from Shumr, and he from a certain person, who said: I was a supervisor during the time of Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). That person reported that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) commanded us and said: By Allah, you will most certainly perform those deeds which you are commanded to do, otherwise Jews and Christians will be set over your necks.
