Hadith 40015
٤٠٠١٥ - حدثنا غندر عن شعبة عن يعلى بن عطاء عن أبيه قال: كانت آخذا بلجام دابة عبد اللَّه بن عمرو فقال: كيف أنتم إذا هدمتم (١) البيت؟ فلم تدعوا حجرا على حجر، قالوا: ونحن على الإسلام؟ قال: (وأنتم) (٢) على الإسلام، قال: ثم ماذا؟ قال: ثم يبنى أحسن ما كان، فإذا رأيت مكة قد بعجت كظائم ورأيت البناء يعلو رؤوس الجبال فاعلم أن الأمر قد أظلك (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ata that he said: I was holding the reins of the mount of Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr when he said: What will be your condition when you demolish this house (i.e., the Kaaba), and you will not leave any stone upon another? His companions submitted and said: Will we be upon Islam? He replied: You will be upon Islam. I asked: Then what will happen? He said: Then it will be rebuilt better than before. When you see wells being dug in Mecca and you see buildings rising higher than the tops of the mountains, then know that the matter is near.
